How to setup a Basic Detection Zone exercise?

In this description we share all the in's an out's to start building your own Ledsreact Basic Detection zone drills

1 Ledsreact Basic Detection zone function  characteristics 

  1. The Ledsreact Basic Detection function is a function in which the Ledsreact Pro will provide a signal when he is detecting a player. This way the agility can be trained by letting the player reacting on the unexpected signals. 
  2. A signal can be a direction or a color
  3. Realy great to use for Change of Direction training under high speeds

2 How to interpret the signals

Directions: by using the directions you can train the change direction capacities of players in an easy way. 


Colors: by positioning the different colors on different places in the trainings area you let the player think more and therefore more focussing on cognition and decision making instead of pure change of direction. 
  1. Color red 

  1. Color Green 


  1. Color blue


  1. Color Yellow 



3 Some examples how to use the signals

A. Tapping game (cognitive and reactive warm up)
Positioning the Ledsreact Pro on the surface 
  1. Position the Ledsreact Pro in a free area and flat surface
Positioning the Colored cones which are also the starting points
  1. Position the colored cones green,  red,  blue and yellow in line with the nr's positioned on the Ledsreact Pro (each one is a starting point)
  2. The distance from the Ledsreact Pro to the colored cones are depending toe the distance you would like to see the players running


How to perform
  1. On each position there is a player standing
  2. All the players are running towards the Ledsreact Pro on the same time
  3. The Ledsreact Pro will provide a colored signal
  4. The player started on the given color must return so fast as possible to his starting point
  5. The other players must try to tap that player
  6. The player who tapped that player receives one point. 






B. Blue back drill (reactive and change of direction) 
This is a drill to optimize the reaction speed and decision making by letting the player reacting on the colors given in a fast pace by the Ledsreact Pro. 

Position the Ledsreact Pro 
  1. Position the Ledsreact Pro on a flat surface 
Position the start
  1. The start must be positioned in front of NR1 indicated on the Pro on a distance 1,5M or 5ft away
Position the Colored cones
  1. Position the blue cone against NR 1 indicated on the Ledsreact Pro
  2. Position the yellow cone left and the red one right 
TIP: changing the colors red and yellow will make it harder for the player 



How to perform this drill
  1. Player received a colored signal
  2. Player must run around the cone according to the provided color by the Ledsreact Pro 
  3. Player is returning to the center point and will receive a next colorer signal
  4. Player need to performing this drill according to the time or amount of signals set in the mobile app
